The Start

I decided to ditch university to begin travelling, which I have wanted to do for so so long.

I was given a one way ticket to Bali from my parents as an early birthday present, which I am very thankful for, despite the small suspicion they may have done that to get me out their house πŸ˜‰

Packing light

I wanted to pack as lightly as a could for a few reasons: avoid extra baggage costs at airports, to be able to walk a good distance without breaking my back and to have a simpler journey, as they say, less is more.

I took a 45l backpack. My wardrobe includes 4 t-shirts, 2 shorts, 1 pair of thin joggers, a thin jumper, raincoat, 1 pair of trainers, flip flops and some pants and socks. Then I have a pop up bowl, spoon (I did have a knife and fork too but slowly were taken from different airport securities πŸ˜•), first aid stuff, wash kit, hammock, mosquito net, spare rope, sleeping bag, travel towel, water bottle, sketchbook, drawing/painting stuff and as I write this in Philippines, some nuts, pancake mix, uncooked rice and soy sauce :). And I always have a bumbag on me with my phone, a solar power bank, cable and hand sanitizer. Together comes to about 12kg.

Original plan

So me and Harry have the idea of travelling southeast Asia, then head to Tokyo to meet his family, then make our way to America where we’ll buy a campervan and travel from Mexico to Panama and maybe further, just until we run out of money, then fly to Australia to work and earn some monies. Then travel for round 2 after Australia.

How I travel

I love to travel for as little money as possible and doing stuff for free 😁, by doing things such as hammocking, hitch hiking and eating local food or cooking if we can, as the less money I spend, the longer I can travel!
